PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Village of Smithton retained the services of Rhutasel and Associates, Inc. to expand their water service north to the “Douglas” area. The project consisted of connecting into the Village’s current water distribution system and extending service approximately a mile and half north to the Douglas Rd. – IL Route 159 intersection.  The project included 7,000 lineal feet of 14 water main, 1200 lineal feet of 10” water main, 2,000 lineal feet of 8” water main, new services to the expanded area, fire protection and appurtenances. Rhutasel and Associates, Inc. worked with the Village and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency during the planning, design and construction of the project.  The Village funded the project through the IEPA Revolving Loan Program and Rhutasel provided the planning, design, construction observation, and loan administration for the project.
